- Universe: US-listed common stocks, ordinary shares and common ADRs with a collected market cap below $2B; ETFs and stocks without a cap are excluded.
- Each stock: today’s VWAP × today’s cumulative share volume, pre-market through after-hours. A stock without a VWAP is not ranked.
- FESCI v1 = the sum of the top 50, recomputed every second, so membership changes during the day.
- One point per minute is archived (04:01–20:00 ET). The previous session’s value at the same second is interpolated between its two neighbouring minute points; a missing minute is never filled or interpolated across.
- The 20-session average appears only once all 20 previous sessions are comparable. History rebuilt from minute files is labelled separately and never compared with live values.
- Versions: each FESCI version’s parameters are frozen once published. A new version is announced here and in the changelog; charts mark the boundary, values are never spliced across versions, and same-time comparisons only use one version.
